Johansfors

Johansfors was founded in 1892 and continued in operation until 2014.

Bengt Orup became the artistic director of Johansfors Glasbruk in 1950. He remained there until 1968 when he was invited to serve as guest professor at the Royal College of Art in London.

During the 1960’s - 1990’s a number of artists were associated with Johansfors, including Bertil Vallien, Astrid Gate, Catti Åselius Lidbeck, Christopher Ramsey, Ingegerd Råman, Ardy Struwer and Helen Tapper. The Gallery has a large selection of pieces by Astrid Gate, much produced in Johansfors.
