The 2017 show features work produced by a number of contemporary British artists working with glass.

Particular prominence is given to the work of Peter Layton and others associated with the London Glassblowing Studio. Peter was born in 1937 and is one of the founding fathers of studio glass.

In addition to producing his own work, which frequently exhibits “painterly” qualities, Peter has nurtured a large number of other artists who have gone on to make their own names.  Among those associated with the London Glassblowing Studio whose work is on show in the Gallery is Elliott Walker.
