Releasing the Light II: The main show in 2012, running from late April to the end of August, consisted of work by members of the Guild of Glass Engravers. Thirty artists were represented, from Canada, the Czech Republic, England, Japan, Scotland and the United States.
The Guild was set up by a group of British engravers in 1975 and aims to promote high standards of creative design and craftmanship across a wide variety of engraving techniques.
“To engrave glass is to embark on an absorbing and rewarding experience of working with light. The mysterious qualities of glass - a liquid metal caught in a moment of time and requiring both fire and water in the making - appear magical”
